Best Classic Rock Solos
No solo deserves a number or to be called the best, these solos are not even my favorite solos. All of these solos are unique on their own. Forget that this is a list of numbers. Just see it as great solos one by one. There is more than this list even. List of the solos: 1: Stairway To Heaven Led Zeppelin Jimmy Page 2: Free Bird Lynyrd Skynyrd Allen Collins 3: All Along The Watchtower Jimi Hendrix Experience Jimi Hendrix 4: Comfortably Numb Pink Floyd David Gilmour 5: Maggot Brain Funkadelic Eddie Hazel 6: Hotel California The Eagles Don Felder/Joe Walsh 7: Child In Time Deep Purple Richie Blackmore 8: Eruption Van Halen Eddie Van Halen 9: Mr. Crowley Ozzy Osbourne Randy Rhoads 10: Sweet Child O’ Mine Guns N’ Roses Slash
Video Rating: 4 / 5

I saw Dan Kanter with the hat in 1:29. Is that him?
Seriously, I love the intro: ”STFU and enjoy the video”, LOL. Man, a really great video
ritchie blackmore is the best!!!
@rotagen5
Yes… And one of the first rock bands that actually had the singer encouraged long jams was Jim Morrison of The Doors, hell probably they were the first rock band who did had long jams, but Jazz had long jams way before rock though.
One of the many genius things that Skynyrd and Zep had, their singers were bright enough, and egoless enough to lay back and let their great guitarists shine on some nice long jams. Anyone who has worked with a “singer” knows what I’m talking about. Todays music is so soulless and lame in comparison. I miss you Allen !
PS there are too many great solos to mention, but its a shame that aside from the great Mark Knopfler, they all occured in the late 60s and 70s.
I give Ritchie Blackmore the gold medal here. Child in Time is the sweetest rock ballad of any band in that era.
IF YOU LIKE GOOD MUSIC YOU MUST SEE/LISTEN/ENJOY….. MAGGOT BRAIN CACERES ONE OF THE BEST BANDS OF THE WORLD
Love that you picked all live clips. Shows the talents these guitarist really have. Great vid.
maggot brain should be # 1
Cool fact; Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin and Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple were born in the same town/village called Heston. Heston was settled in Saxon Times!
@NO11YOU
No, it isn’t like that at all. Either ways, some psychologist say our subconscious could do that and this, while others psychologists differ and say that it can’t do those things. Studying real psychology are just theories, which some were proven, but mostly about the subconscious, they are all theories, through examinations like for dreaming, examine the brain (nerve) frequencies, that doesn’t tell what the person is dreaming about or why they dream. Just theories through opinions.
@LinkBulletBill I know it doesn’t seem like it but it really does help to know what you are talking about.on the internet. If you are going to reply then drop the pseudo-psychologist crap and go learn some real psychology.
@NO11YOU
Oh… I still have those annotations. That was even a typo. But still the subconscious is a very mysterious part of our mind, it analyzes all memories in a way our conscious could not do. We all have the ability to view how our subconscious works through dreaming. We aren’t sure if our subconscious can analyze memories & actually reverse the audio, but it’s doubtful. When looking back at memories consciously, we only remember important details, while our subconscious is highly accurate.
Subliminal lyrics do not have any effect on the subconscious and if you disagree your a wannabe psychologist who think’s using the word subconscious make you look like you know what you are talking about but in reality you have no real knowledge on the subject. Dumbfucks.

@doyle2014 I was watchin an interview with ozzy about the making of the tribute album for randy and he went to randys girlfriends house and asked if he could use the polka-dot flying v and she hadn’t opened the case since his death so she agreed and they opened it and EVERYTHING WAS THERE. The case had the guitar and a pack of half empty cigarettes. And he recalls the hairs on the back of his neck standing up as it brought back so many memories and i found it very sad to watch. Fuck sharon.
@paulod96 Rhoads is my fav guitarist hands down. He’s really, in my opinion, top 3 guitarists of all time…and I agree…Mr. Crowley def deserves more than #9…that has two of the greatest guitar solos in history…nothing like ‘em
@LinkBulletBill Thats fine,i understand how u could take it the wrong way.
wel it’s a gud liist all the same
@paulod96
Sometimes people don’t realize what they are mentioning is even an opinion.
Some people actually actually believe what they are saying are facts, even though at its base it’s an opinion.
Sorry I disturbed you sir, just I probably though you were one of them, this list was made 2 years ago, when I was ignorant like fuck, I believe.
Sorry, I misinterpreted you.
@LinkBulletBill I know and i agree that no solo deserves a number but what i said about Mr.Crowley was my OPINION.
@paulod96
read description… please…
@doyle2014 Yeah…..he was like tryin 2 combine both classical and heavy metal to create speed but with soul, So it’s got that kinda…………….hard to explain emotion in it.
GOD i can’t BELIEVE HE PUT Mr.Crowley @ No.9 it deserves WAAAAY more credit than that. Don’t get me wrong i like stairway 2 heaven 2!!!!!!!BUUUUT it’s a little overrated 2.
@paulod96 Yes!!!!!!!! Haha. Randy Rhoads was one of them guys who could play with speed, but had the feel and emotion in it too. Mr. Crowley was a great example of that, as well as in songs like Tonight, Goodbye to Romance, and even Crazy Train…really just about anything he played…but you couldn’t be more right about that…sure Sweet Child’s solo is harder to play than Knockin’ on Heaven’s door, but it just don’t seem to have that emotion put in it. We have like the same exact thoughts haha
@doyle2014 Yeah it’s just gotta have the soul. And i am not really the biggest fan of fast guitar solo’s but if there fast and sound like the people worked really hard at it then it’s great. Hmmmmmmmmm………like Mr.Crowly’s solo from ozzy osbourne cause randy rhoads had his own style. you know?
@paulod96 Yes!!!!!! Your so freakin’ right!!!! Haha. Why don’t other people understand this?! A good guitar solo ain’t gotta be hard to play to be good!!! I
